The skills center is another huge project realised by Cunina in May 2017 and its already producing great results .

Apart from the 4 academic subjects taught in Uganda, there are other vocational subjects/skills that Adullam Model Primary School teaches the children in order to prepare them for the future. These are:

Art and Crafts
The teachers harness the local environment and use the available materials to engage the children in basketry, making ornaments like necklaces, modelling, drawing, painting and many more

Sewing
Sewing involves needle work where learners use their hands and sewing machines to draft different patterns depending on what item is to be made. They learn to make dresses, aprons, skirts, petty coats, sweaters and many others.

Apart from sewing or mending their clothes, they gain knowledge of how to be self reliant.

These skills prepare children to future entrepreneurs as they are income generating skills.

OUR SKILLS CENTRE IS ALSO OPEN TO THE PUBLIC FOOR LEARNING AT A N AFFORDABLE FEE PER LESSON. VISIT US THIS WEEK AND TAKE A LOOK AT WHAT WE PRODUCE IN OUR SKILLS CENTRE

Our New Kindergarten Section – Adullam PRE School is now open  and Registration is already open 3 years to 6 year olds. Thanks to our Education Partners  Cunina, We have a newly constructed good looking environment to cater for our toddlers

We have three child development Class stages in our Nursery/Kindergarten Section and a special national child development curriculum is followed based on these stages;

3 to 4 years Baby class
4 to 5 years Middle class
5 to 6 years Top class

The curriculum is based on the developmental needs of the children. We emphasize that development is a product of both heredity and environment. While heredity pre-determines the genetic potential, the environment provides the various inputs needed for the child to achieve the genetic potential.

While each child is unique, they do have some distinctive common characteristics that we care givers should be aware of.

We designed developmental activities for the total growth in the physical, cognitive, social, emotional, moral and spiritual aspect of the child. These are:

Physical needs include

Need for proper feeding and healthy environment.
Need for exercise and play.
Need for sleep and rest.
Need for care and attention.

Emotional Needs Include:

Need for love and security.
Need for success and self-worth.
Need for opportunities to express anger, fear, tenderness and happiness.

Social and Moral Needs include:
Need to live with and relate with others.
Need to belong to a group.
Need to understand right and wrong.
Need to become independent.

Spiritual needs include:
Need to understand the creator and creation.
Need to understand God as a loving Father who cares for them and others.

Intellectual needs include:

Need for opportunities to explore, experiment and discover.
Need for opportunities to use language.
Need for purposeful play.

The aims and objectives of our pre-primary education are
:

  1. To develop capabilities and healthy physical growth of the child through play
  2. To help the child develop good social habits
  3. To develop moral values in the child
  4. To enrich the child’s experience by developing imagination, self-reliance and thinking power
  5. To help the child towards appreciating his/her national cultural background and customs and care for other people
  6. To develop language and communication skills
  7. Above, all to grow in strict observance of discipline
